Editing and exporting a finished run
Once a run finishes, open it to reach the timeline view: the place to preview what was made, nudge it, and export it. This page walks through the three tabs and what each does.
Opening the timeline
From a finished run, open its timeline view. It has three tabs: Timeline, Clips, and Run Info.
Timeline
The Timeline tab is where you preview and adjust the edit.
- Play a rough cut in the browser. Before anything is rendered, you can still play through the edit to see how it flows.
- Play the rendered video, once one exists.
- Drag clips to reposition them. Move a clip earlier or later on its level without leaving the page.
- Edit caption text inline. Click into a caption and change the words directly.
Any change you make opens a pending-changes bar with Undo, Revert all, Export FCPXML with edits, and Render video with edits. Undo steps back one change at a time; Revert all discards everything you have changed since opening the run. Nothing is exported or rendered until you choose one of the export or render options, so you can adjust freely without committing.
Clips
The Clips tab lists what was placed, organized by level (main footage, b-roll, captions, and so on). Use it to see the whole edit at a glance rather than scrubbing through the timeline to find a specific clip.
Run Info
The Run Info tab holds the run's details: start time, cost, and status detail. It also has Delete run, which removes a finished run. This cannot be undone.
Exporting
Plain exports, available as soon as the run has produced something to export:
- Export FCPXML. Downloads as a zipped
.fcpxmldbundle you open in Final Cut Pro. - Export SRT. Downloads the captions as a subtitle file.
- Generate Video, then Download MP4 once it finishes rendering.
If you dragged a clip or edited a caption, use the edited versions instead so the export reflects your changes:
- Export FCPXML with edits
- Render video with edits
A previously rendered MP4 reflects the state of the edit when it was rendered, not what the timeline looks like now. If you change something afterward, render again to pick it up.
Comparing model output
Some runs are executed twice for comparison. When a run has a comparison available, a Compare button appears alongside the timeline. See Rating runs and model training for what the comparison shows and how to use it.
