Billing

This page covers subscribing to Creator, managing an existing subscription, what a failed payment means, and how to get a Custom plan. See Plans for what each plan includes.

Subscribing to Creator

Open Plans & billing from the account menu and choose Upgrade to Creator. You are taken to a secure Stripe checkout page to enter your payment details. Once payment succeeds, your account is upgraded automatically: no separate confirmation step, and no need to contact us.

Managing your subscription

From the same Plans & billing page, choose Manage billing. This opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can:

  • Update or replace your payment method
  • Download past invoices
  • Cancel your subscription

Puffin Ship does not store your card details directly; all payment information is handled by Stripe.

Canceling

Cancel from the Stripe billing portal (Manage billing). Your Creator access continues for the rest of the period you already paid for. When that period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan automatically: no action needed on your part, and nothing you have made is deleted or affected.

If you change your mind before the period ends, you can resubscribe from the Plans & billing page at any time.

If a payment fails

If a card is declined or a renewal payment does not go through, your account is marked past due and the Plans & billing page shows a notice asking you to update your payment method. Update it from Manage billing, the same Stripe billing portal used to manage your subscription, and the next payment attempt uses the new method. Your Creator access is not removed the moment a payment fails; if payments keep failing without being fixed, the subscription is eventually canceled and your account moves to Free, the same as a deliberate cancellation.

Getting a Custom plan

Custom plans are set up by hand rather than through self-serve checkout. Contact us and tell us what you need (run volume, storage, team size). We will configure your account and let you know once it is ready. There is nothing to purchase yourself: you will not be asked to enter payment details through checkout for a Custom plan.
